So I was lucky enough to crack the nod at a very select group of people who got on Puma Yachts and followed Il Mostro, Puma’s entry into the Volvo Ocean Race 2008, out into the ocean as the official race relaunched in Cape Town this past weekend.
Puma Decked out with 5FM to host a killer function with breki, a trip on the boats for that once in a lifetime chance to get real close to the action as the boats whipped out on their way up to India. (more…)
So I’ve put together a plan of action to get those fruit again. Not only are the fruit you see there tough to get to, being out on the thin branches at the end of the plausible line of “normality” but the fruit are also not clear as to what exactly they are. This is one of the greatest problems with having a few things going on. (more…)
It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.
It doesn’t interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dream, for the adventure of being alive.
It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon. I want to know if you have touched the center of your own sorrow, if you have been opened by life’s betrayals or have become shriveled and closed from fear of further pain!I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own, without moving to hide it or fade it, or fix it.
I want to know if you can be with joy, mine or your own, if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be careful, to be realistic, to remember the limitations of being human.
It doesn’t interest me if the story you are telling me is true. I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself; if you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul; if you can be faithlessand therefore trustworthy.
I want to know if you can see beauty even when it’s not pretty, every day,and if you can source your own life from its presence.
The Invitation by Oriah Mountain Dreamer, book cover
I want to know if you can live with failure, yours and mine, and still stand on the edge of the lake and shout to the silver of the full moon, “Yes!”
It doesn’t interest me to know where you live or how much money you have. I want to know if you can get up, after the night of grief and despair, weary and bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done to feed the children.
It doesn’t interest me who you know or how you came to be here. I want to know if you will stand in the center of the fire with me and not shrink back.
It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom you have studied. I want to know what sustains you, from the inside, when all else falls away.
I want to know if you can be alone with yourself and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments.
Fresh off the back of a good block of solid time invested into something passionate you should expect something called “The Moment”.
The Moment is as clear as the crytal blue sea in Santorini in Mid August. If you know what you are feeling, The Moment will be a feeling of total control, peace and contentment, and will leave you full to the brim with the essence of life. It is the reward for hard work. It will be a quiet moment and you will glow, I guarantee it.
If it’s in a sports sense, you will feel it in your muscles as you power effortlessly through the day. You will wake up that morning with a quiet mind, and a hungry stomach. The body will know its going to reward you for the hard work you’ve put in for the last few weeks, even if you aren’t aware of it just yet. A marked improvement in racing performance is about to happen, if you know how to nurse it. If you nurture your performance today, you are going to be a superstar. It doesn’t mean you will win the race, as The Moment happens to everyone, from the winner to the person finishing last. The Moment is a universal satisfaction and the reason we keep on keeping on. I was dumbfounded when I found this today. Its so funny I cant stop laughing. There is just something about it that I cant stop giggling at. My boss has asked me to leave the room twice as “being professional is impossible when your co-workers are laughing their rear ends off”.

I promise a serious post later today, but this was too good to miss out on.
Nikola Tosic is a good mate of mine and he was one of the people who got me to get Urban Ninja going. I did a race report on Hawaii for him, you can read it by clicking the link…

So tomorrow is my birthday, and this year I am taking the stance that I don’t want a birthday gift from anyone. I would rather you take the nominal value you wanted to buy something for me with, and donate it to charity for our Movember Bowling Tournament. You will find the Movember post just down the page from this one. I have had such a blessed year I have decided its time you took your cash and gave it to someone who needs it more than I do.
If you absolutely cannot get past the idea of putting money into Cansa, then there is only 1 item which I want…
I realise what they are. But do you actually know? This from the manufacturer…
“No matter how hard we try, a certain number of hubshells just aren’t going to pass our quality control standards. A bore is a tiny bit off, a wall thickness is little out of the tolerance, maybe the shell’s surface finish was not quite right. Into the scrap pile it goes. Unless it would be OK for a shaker.
These are not “rejected” parts, they have only been reassigned to a life of service that is more suited to their slightly non-conformist tendencies.
The SNP shakers (Salt and Pepper) are our front hubshells put to good use on your dinner table.
A favorite bike rider gift, and they are certainly more useful than a Christmas Tree Ornament.
Call us (800.523.6008) to place an order and check color availability.
Price: $120
But please, I would like them in RED. Click the link here
